LUMINARIES
Sunday December 13th
TIME: Light your candles at dusk
Light your candles at dusk and join in making our neighborhood a magical place. On the 13th we will transform the neighborhood for a few hours with just a little effort , a bit of neighborly cooperation, and a few thousand paper bags and candles. That's it. Candles zero $'s, Paper Bags zero $'s, Sand, zero $'s. The whole neighborhood aglow with the warmth of candlelight - priceless.
Here's how it works.
The neighborhood association has budgeted funds this year to provide luminaries at “no charge” to all homes in the neighborhood. Candles, bags, and instructions will be delivered to your house by your block captain. You will also get basic instructions on everything from how to fold the bags to where to place the luminaries. Sand and extra candles and bags will be available at a location that is convenient for you to pick up on the 12th and 13th. On the afternoon of the 13th, you will place the bags at the curb and put some sand and a candle in each one. At dusk, you light the candles. It's a great chance to see and talk to your neighbors. If you can't be at home to light your own candles, just place them along the curb and ask a neighbor to do it. On Monday morning, just pick up the bags and toss them in the trash. The rain date is December 20. More information about weather, logistics and other stuff will be included in your packet.
We hope that you will choose to be a part of what for some of us is a tradition of almost 25 years and to join your neighbors in sharing the warmth and goodwill of the holiday season. But we understand that in a large and diverse neighborhood, some may choose not to participate. If you would rather not have the luminary supplies delivered to your house, simply e-mail your wishes to rdcarruth@aol.com or call 754-5399 by December 4 . Give us your name and address and we will take you off the list.
All of us lead busy lives and slowing down to enjoy simple pleasures isn't easy. A single night of luminaries provides a great opportunity to try it in what is the busiest part of the year. So...fold a few bags, scoop some sand, light a few candles, and spend a few minutes walking around the neighborhood enjoying the soft light of thousands of candles and the company of neighbors who are doing the same. Or hop in the car and drive around with your parking lights. It will you give one more reason to feel good about where you live.

Summer Fun

The Summer Social Event was a blast and those who attended enjoyed
fantastic food, and some really cool games. The kids had a great time
taking turns in the Dunk Tank, what a big hit! We want to thank our
social committee Carol Price and Gina Russell for doing an outstanding job!

We have a lot of pictures for you all to view from the event. Please click on
